Audrey Oztov - Evelow
Appearance: Dark skin, big/curvy. Pink curly hair. Almost always wearing winged eyeliner. sometimes wears round glasses. dimple piercings, (right) eyebrow piercing, nose piercing.
Audrey wants to defy the protectiveness and embrace the danger, and she knows the world can do the same. She wants to believe that people are afraid of the outside world for no reason.
Minds her business unless she's thrown into something. Shy and not the first to make friends. A little rude, a little nice. Is she two-faced ? Or sensitive ? The ultimate Anti-Hero. Audrey gets embarrassed easily. She often gets bad dreams.
Audrey doesn't give out much information about her past. She lived in the small city of Dile and moved to Evelow recently, which is very uncommon for people to do. With her parents gone for so long and her siblings deciding to follow their footsteps as licensed travelers, Audrey was meant to follow that path and become a traveler too. However, she didn't have the credentials to do so, so Audrey was told to stay put and represent the Oztovs in the city. Audrey used this to pursue her real passion, which is to take the toxicity that invades so much of the world and put it to good use. Everyone in Dile put her down, told her it's dangerous and foolish. Audrey left town and moved to Evelow, a city she heard was full of possibilities. She replaced her last name to "Evelow" in order to start over and mask any past identity She figured someone in her new home would believe in her.
Audrey is insecure about her sensitivity. Rejection really hurts her so she tries to not put herself out there in fear of being turned down.
Likes music, singing, isolation, gemstones, mythology stories, and makeup. Likes video games with cute graphics and character designs. dislikes confrontation and deep conversations. Likes sparkling water and plastering her laptop cover, phone cover, and notebooks with stickers. Audrey likes singing and playing music, but usually without anyone listening.
Despite a monotonous speaking voice, has a wide range of vocals. Sometimes she'll think out loud.
Favorite Color: Pink.
Favorite Fruit: Cherry.
Favorite Animal: Bunny.
Theme Song: "Banshee" by Santigold.
Relationships
- Nathan - Older Brother. The two of them aren't very close, as Nathan has been absent from her life in the past few years. When he suddenly moves into Evelow with a new look and a story to tell, the two get a chance to mend their relationship and while their personalities aren't the same, manage to become good siblings to each other.
- Advik - Roommate, the first person to befriend her since she moved into Evelow. They work together very well to solve problems and have good chemistry. Advik laughs the loudest at Audrey's dry humor so bonus points for that. Also supportive of each other. Ride or die.
- Katsumi - Neighbor, a little overbearing and Audrey hates to admit the first interactions were out of pity, but Kat has turned out to be one of the sweetest people to Audrey. Audrey feels like she can vent to her without feeling judged whatsoever. Kat also has a crush on Audrey, but it's not quite reciprocated. Give it some time.
- Avery - Snobby acquaintance turned best friend. Avery is one story after another but Audrey sympathizes with her despite all odds. A comfort friend for sure.
- Zack - Not quite sure what to make of him in the beginning, Audrey has grown to like him. But she's told herself not to spend too much time with him, she gets too comfortable and she's suspecting there could be something besides a friendship. Nope, can't do that !
- Cora - Another roommate, sure their personalties clash sometimes, but Cora is very protective and honest in ways Audrey's own friends aren't.
- Heidi - Coworker. They don't ever hang out outside of work, but Audrey thinks her deadpan humor is actually tasteful.
Who are the Oztovs ?
Nathan is one of many in a extended family who've all made sure to keep the last name in order to stay true to their brand. (except for Audrey.)
Traveling amongst towns and cities has always been a necessity of this world, but generations ago, senior Oztov was a pioneer in reintroducing traveling as an exclusive career for the dedicated few that was to be highly respected. Saving traveling to those willing to risk venturing the wastelands also prevented much of the population to reside safely in their cities, reducing toxic exposure.
Oztov was so committed to traveling they raised their families separately, all with the purpose of becoming travelers of their own when they grew up. Over time through generations, the Oztovs had spent so much time around toxic waste that they were considered "one with nature" and had built up immunities that were passed to their children.
Despite their dedication to the world, they hardly spent time with each other, with the exceptions of occasionally visiting their children or running into a family member on a conference. It's common for an Oztov to not be aware of another's existence, as they are as mysterious to each other as they are to the world.
